We’ve got some big news and we think you’re going to love it!
A core part of what we do is supporting new riders who are genuinely passionate about dirt biking. We want to give them the best training and the perfect path to confidently tackle the amazing trails we have here in Colorado.
We’ve heard your feedback! Over the past few seasons, many of you—parents and riders alike—have asked for something in between our “First Timers” and “Level Up” program. While that gap was there to ensure only serious riders moved on, we realized we might have left some enthusiastic rider a bit in the parking lot! They had the enthusiasm but maybe not quite the skill yet to safely shred the front range trails with control. This led to some tough moments on Ride Days, and, we want everyone to have a smoother, happier, and dust-free experience!
Meet Pika: Your Bridge to the Trails!
Pika is an 8-session program designed to be the perfect entry point to Level Up, bridging that gap between your first time on or returning to a dirt bike and becoming a safe, confident trail rider.
Here’s what you need to know about Pika:
- 8 Focused Sessions: A dedicated curriculum to really nail those essential fundamentals.
- Ride Day Ready: The program includes “Pika Approval” testing. This test will be more rigorous than before, ensuring riders have solid control over starting, stopping, shifting, turning, and standing up in control. This means safer riding for everyone and happier guides!
- Flexibility for First Timers: If your rider does the First Timer class, they can also test out for Ride Day approval that same day to become a Pika.
- Top-Notch Locations: Sessions will be held at Thunder Valley MX Park and RAM Off-Road, with our regular Ride Days in the nearby foothills.
- Patch and Sticker Presentation: Issued upon completion of skills testing.
- Cost: The full Pika Program is $2250 for all 8 sessions.
Ready to Sign Up?
If you or your rider need a little more comfort, coordination, and confidence before hitting the trails, the Pika Program is the perfect fit.
We’re even offering holiday discounts for Pika sign-ups before Christmas! Another great option that includes Pika testing is our 3-Day Summer Camps.
We’re incredibly excited to see you and your riders continue to learn and grow with us next season!
Tires
These are what we’ve found to work here in Colorado. The best tires for decomposed granite vary based on your wallet. Gummies can shred in a couple days while harder tires can be cheaper and last longer.
SHINKO
SEDONA
Inflation
We’ve seen a variety of success or luck with tubes, tube-‘less’, and mousse. We only put products up here that don’t suck. But if you put these on and hate ’em, fair enough.
Some guys run mousses in front, tubless in rear, others run tubless in rear with old tubes in front. Consensus is that the mousse is the go to if you don’t want to think about hitting anything and you don’t really care about your rims.
Tools
“The right tool for the job.” ~Genius
It’s incredibly true. You can mess with stuff for hours with disasterous results. Get the right tool and it’s done lickety-split.
Hydration & Food
You know the drill. Dehydration can lead to fatigue, bad vision, bad decision making and expensive, self-induced repair bills.
Hitch ’em ups
Getting your bike/s too and from . . . these are some of the best options.
